Scope

Central European Horizons is a peer-reviewed open access journal, which provides academics with a forum to publish their papers. It encourages researchers to publish their results on topics concerning historical and cultural heritage of Central European states and nations, the potential of their cooperation and their relationship towards other global region, while making significant contributions to the understanding this region.

Central European Horizons aims at being an interdisciplinary magazine for researchers from a broad range of disciplinary backgrounds and specializations that include, among others, history, cultural studies and international relation.

We welcome conceptual analysis and research based on archival sources, while accepting book reviews and review essays.

Submissions Information

The editors of the Central European Horizons welcome papers that do not exceed 5000 words (without notes). All submitted articles must be in English or/and Hungarian.

Authors must submit their manuscripts as a .DOC or .DOCX file attachment to info[dot]horizontok.hu. Only electronic submissions will be considered. The title of the manuscript, the author’s name, and an abstract of no more than 450 words should be submitted on a separate title page or in a cover letter. Please include the title on the manuscript’s first page and be certain to remove your name and any first-person references to your published work from the manuscript. The CEH undertakes a peer-review process.

Our magazine does not accept simultaneous submissions. Only manuscripts that are not under consideration elsewhere are eligible for submission. An article in the CEH must not have been published previously in any form before appearing in the journal.

Citation

Editors only accept papers with footnotes and bibliography. Footnotes are based on the APA Format Citation.
